Specialist counseling centers for violence against women include dedicated counseling centers, women's emergency hotlines, and intervention centers. Women affected by violence can seek advice here to protect themselves from violence, overcome experiences of violence, assert their rights, and find violence-free prospects for themselves and their children.
The services are aimed at women who are affected by or threatened by physical, sexual, psychological or economic violence in their partnership, in the family, in relationships, in everyday life, at work or in other social contexts.
Specialist counseling centers support women who have experienced violence – regardless of age, sexual orientation, residence status, social status, or origin. It also doesn't matter when or in what form the women experienced violence. Family members and professionals can also contact the specialist counseling centers. Migrants affected by violence are also specifically addressed, although only a few specialist counseling centers offer counseling in languages other than German.
