Basics of counseling on digital violence
The digitalization of violence presents challenges for professionals. This training course provides an overview of various phenomena of digital violence. The social causes of this violence are discussed and why it can be classified as gender-specific.
The focus is on cyberstalking and digital sexual violence. Through practical tips and strategies, participants from counseling centers and women's shelters are empowered to effectively support victims and strengthen their digital security. The training focuses particularly on psychosocial aspects and attitudes in counseling regarding digital violence.
The training is suitable for professionals who want to take their first steps in the field of digital violence, as well as for professionals who have prior knowledge.
Focus: psychosocial aspects
Speaker: Cordelia Moore is a consultant for gender-based digital violence, focusing on cyberstalking and sexualized violence. She works in victim support, provides training for professionals, and advises organizations on dealing with digital violence. She is currently working on developing structures that support professionals in addressing digital violence.

Protection against tracking and surveillance in women's shelters
This training provides an overview of the most common digital surveillance options in women's shelters: location tracking, cloud accounts, and stalkerware. The training is aimed at beginners with no prior knowledge. You will practice security measures and learn what to look out for when working with victims to protect digital devices from tracking and surveillance. You will also gain knowledge of how to assess threat situations for your clients (which concerns are justified, and what is technically impossible?).
The 1,5-day training course will focus on how you can apply what you have learned in your women's shelter, for example, when taking in victims.
The training alternates between practical exercises, inputs, case discussions, and opportunities for sharing experiences. You will also receive handouts with instructions that can also be shared with colleagues.
Focus: technical aspects
Presenters: Two trainers from the project "A Team Against Digital Violence" of the Institute for Technology and Journalism (Institut für Technik und Journalismus e.V.) offer the training courses. The project was initiated by Inga Pöting, who authored the guideline "Protection from Tracking and Surveillance" within the FHK protection concept.
