Guidelines for working with interpreters: Now also available in Ukrainian

In order to improve cooperation with professional and volunteer interpreters – especially in the context of violence protection – the Women’s Shelter Coordination (FHK) together with the Initiative for Good Interpreting developed guidelines for 

• Interpreters
• Clients and
• Employees in counseling centers, women's shelters, etc.

Ukrainian version for clients

The guide "Information for Clients on Working with Interpreters" was previously available in 12 languages commonly used in counseling. Given the war against Ukraine, there is also an increased need for interpreting services into Ukrainian. The guide is therefore now also available in Ukrainian (see below).

Interpreting in violence protection

Working with interpreters is part of the daily work of many women's shelters and specialized counseling centers. The need for professional, culturally and trauma-sensitive interpreters is high. However, this vital interpreter service is often unfunded or inadequately funded.
