Training: Protecting refugee women from violence –
legal and psychosocial support
You can find the documentation for the training on October 10.10.2018, XNUMX in Frankfurt am Main as a PDF document for download below.
Refugee women are often inadequately protected from gender-based violence – in their countries of origin, while fleeing, and also in Germany. Specialized counseling centers and women's shelters support and advise refugee women affected by violence and offer specific services.
In practice, questions and specific problems often arise. There is a great need to acquire knowledge, for example, about asylum and immigration law regulations, questions about benefits law, protection options for refugee women, or even counseling concepts.
Following the positive experiences of the past two years, training courses were also held in 2018. Speakers included lawyers and other professionals with expertise in supporting refugee women.
The main topics of the training courses were:
- Current developments in asylum and residence law and in-depth legal issues
- Support for refugee women in the asylum process
- Situation of undocumented refugee women affected by violence
- Dealing with attributions, discrimination and racism
- Interpreting in consultation
