Data deletion and retention periods for client data

Women's shelters and specialist counseling centers work with sensitive data from particularly vulnerable individuals. FHK has compiled a summary of the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation regarding the handling of client data.

 

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which has been in force since May 25, 2018, sets out various requirements for the processing and storage of collected data, which are also relevant for the counseling and support work of women's shelters or counseling centers.

To provide a better overview of the appropriate handling of personal data, FHK lawyer Dorothea Hecht has compiled an overview of retention periods and requirements for the deletion of client data. This is available for download below.
