Child-safe refuge: Empowerment through projects in the women's shelter – FHK children's fund exhausted

Many women's shelters lack the resources to meet the daily needs of children and provide them with professional support. Thanks to donations from the FHK Children's Fund However, this year 69 special projects for women's shelter children in 54 women's and children's shelters from the FHK member associations.

This allowed for more time and space for play, exercise, and relaxation, as well as child-friendly materials and equipment. Many important topics for children affected by violence were addressed in the projects and implemented in an accessible way through new programs: trauma-informed care, participation and strengthening the mother-child bond, prevention, education, and health. All the projects together make a significant contribution to restoring child-safe and child-friendly spaces. As a result, child protection, empowerment, and support gain greater visibility in the daily life of the women's shelter.
