(30-39 hours per week) to work in our office in Berlin Mitte and remotely. The weekly working hours are a minimum of 30 hours (39 hours/week is also possible) starting March 1, 2026, with 20 hours/week in February 2026 for training. This position is parental leave cover and is expected to be limited until April 15, 2027. An extension is possible.

The Women's Shelter Coordination Association (FHK) is committed to reducing violence against women and improving support services for women and their children affected by violence. On behalf of its member organizations, FHK coordinates, networks, and supports the support system, promotes professional collaboration, and consolidates practical experience to inform political decision-making processes and policy discussions. Part of the position will involve the administration of the project. "Children in women's shelters" FHK's project empowers children and young people in women's shelters by promoting practical projects, qualifying professionals, providing materials, facilitating networking, and providing expert support for political processes related to child protection.

Your tasks 

 

As an administrative employee, you will work in a team with other administrative staff and consultants. 

Your main areas of responsibility include:

  • Management of funds for the projects and the association 
  • Numerical evidence of the projects 
  • Banking transactions and communication
  • Preparatory accounting with Datev 
  • Communication with the grant agencies 
  • Invoice input and output with sevDesk 
  • Preparation of payroll statements and communication with external payroll accounting. 
  • Other administration in human resources management, e.g., with social security reporting portal, timebutler
  • Administrative support for the project management team “Children in Women’s Shelter”
  • Planning and support of training courses via Pretix
  • Administrative support for material development and shipping
  • Communication with women's shelters & counselling centers 

Our requirements 

  • Relevant vocational training in the administrative field
  • Several years of professional experience in finance or accounting – ideally in dealing with donations, public grants or subsidies.
  • Confident use of MS Office and Internet applications 
  • Secure communication with funding providers and authorities 
  • Organizational talent and digital affinity
  • Excellent command of the German language, both spoken and written. 
  • Structured, reliable and independent way of working
  • teamwork and resilience
  • Identification with the goals of FHK as well as an intersectional feminist basic attitude

Our offer 

We offer you meaningful and socially relevant work in Berlin-Mitte. You will work in a dedicated, appreciative team and gain insights into nationwide feminist professional and support structures. 

You will receive remuneration up to a maximum of TVöD 8 Bund (German Federal Public Service Collective Agreement) and are entitled to 30 vacation days for a 5-day work week. You have the option of working remotely one day a week.
