The Antifeminism Reporting Center has published its Civil Society Situation Report on Antifeminism 2025. According to the report, 640 antifeminist incidents were documented last year – an increase of approximately 15 percent compared to 2024 (558 cases). Particularly significant increases were seen in misogynistic incidents (+60 percent) and attacks related to gender-based violence (+35 percent).
Almost a third of all reported incidents took place in the digital sphere – ranging from the organized dissemination of misogynistic and violent content to AI-generated deepfakes. Attacks on civil society organizations also reached a new high with 169 cases: These included women's shelters, specialist counseling centers, and equality offices, which were affected by acts such as property damage, hate campaigns, and the publication of addresses. The report also shows that a large proportion of the attacks (313 out of 640 cases) are linked to far-right ideologies.
For the Women's Shelter Coordination Association (FHK), the figures clearly show that antifeminism not only threatens individuals, but increasingly also the structures of violence prevention themselves. Attacks on women's shelters, specialist counseling centers, and professionals tie up important resources that should actually be used to support women and children affected by violence.
FHK joins the Antifeminism Reporting Office in calling for a binding overall strategy in politics and civil society to effectively protect equality work and protection from violence.
