Children are a particularly vulnerable group when it comes to protecting women from violence. Their right to a safe upbringing is guaranteed by the Istanbul Convention and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child – yet in practice, affected children are often caught in the crossfire, both at home and during interventions, and in the context of separation and divorce. Protection from violence for women and child protection are closely intertwined. To provide children with the support they need, professionals require diverse expertise at the intersection of women's and child protection.
Exchange and qualification for practical application
The Women's Shelter Coordination Association (FHK) is offering a digital training series in 2026 that provides low-threshold, practical support for professionals in expanding their expertise in psychosocial, educational, and legal aspects of child and women's protection. The training courses thrive on exchange: challenges and strategies in counseling work are reflected upon and further developed collaboratively.
The individual dates are self-contained and build upon each other. not They overlap – participation in individual training courses is therefore easily possible.
Who is this training series for?
The training courses are aimed at full-time and volunteer staff in women's and children's shelters as well as specialist counseling centers. Multiple staff members from the same institution can register. Certain events are exclusively available to institutions belonging to FHK member associations – details can be found on the registration portal.
