FHK Emergency Aid Fund: Apply now

The Emergency Aid Fund provides financial support to specialist counseling centers and women's shelters for cases not covered by regular funding. Applications for funding can be made until the end of 2024.

The costs of accommodating and caring for women and children affected by violence are often not covered by regular funding. Women's shelters, shelters, and specialized counseling centers from FHK member associations can apply for low-threshold funding from the FHK Emergency Aid Fund in these cases.

The FHK emergency aid fund has €2024 available for 100.000. The available funds were donated by the company "Cosnova."

What is promoted?

With the emergency aid fund, FHK supports the admission, counseling and care of individual cases whose financing would otherwise not be covered.

This includes, for example, the admission of women with insecure residence status, legal advice or costs for the special needs of women with disabilities.

Eligible are:

  • Costs for escape to the women's and children's shelter
  • Costs for short stays in the women's shelter
  • Costs for the clearing phase
  • Costs for special needs (e.g. translation, assistance, sign language interpretation)
  • Costs for aids for special needs (e.g. flashing light bell, tactile guidance systems)
  • Costs for legal advice / legal representation
  • Costs for initial equipment in the women's shelter (e.g. hygiene products, medication, new mobile phone, etc.)

What cannot be funded?

It is important that the funding is for an immediate need directly related to the stay in the women's shelter or counseling center. Unfortunately, needs for the period afterward (e.g., furnishing a new apartment, childcare costs for another year, etc.) cannot be funded. More information can be found in our FAQs.

Funding criteria

Each application will provide support for one woman (with children) affected by violence, with a minimum of €500 and a maximum of €3.000. Applications can be submitted at any time until the end of 2024. Only one application per institution can be submitted to the FHK Emergency Relief Fund in 2024.

Applying institutions must be members of FHK or a member association of FHK (AWO, Caritas/SkF, Diakonie, Paritätischer).
