Safety instructions - Traces on the Internet

If someone threatening you has access to your email account, they can read your incoming and outgoing emails. If you want to protect your account from unauthorized access, use a password that is difficult to guess, preferably a combination of letters and numbers. If you receive threatening or harassing emails from someone, print them out to have evidence in case of emergency.

For your safety, we offer a so-called “emergency exit” button on our website, which allows you to leave our website with just the push of a button.

You can cover your tracks on the Internet:

History/Cache: Your internet browser stores information, data, and graphics from the websites you've recently visited. To prevent others from tracking your visits, delete the stored data using your browser's settings.

Deleting your browsing history is a first step. Also, check your browser manufacturer's website for additional options for anonymizing your visit. Determine in advance which browser you are using, and just as importantly, which browser you are using.version You surf the Internet. In most browsers, you can find the browser version information in the menu bar under the "Help" or "?" menu item.

Mozilla Firefox:
Click on the "Tools" menu and select "Clear Recent History." Then, ideally, select "All" and click the "Clear Now" button. You can prevent history recording by using the browser in "Private Mode." This suppresses the logging of your browsing history. In the "Settings" menu, you can also specify that Private Mode should always be active. This setting is only advisable if you use the computer alone. Please also note the browser manufacturer's instructions at the following internet address: support.mozilla.org

Since the names for the individual functions vary across devices, it's not possible to provide general instructions here. However, you can delete the history for the browser you're using in the settings on all devices.

iPhone, iPad or iPod
Use the "Private Browsing" option. This option will not record any history. Please also refer to the browser manufacturer's instructions at the following address: support.apple.com

Despite these tips, it's possible that your tracks haven't been completely erased. Many browser types have other ways to save and display visited websites. Therefore, the safest option is to access internet information in a public place (e.g., an internet café, at work, or at a trusted person's home). However, even there, you should clear your cache as described above.
